I'm moving...how do I find employers in my area?

You just graduated, and you're ready to get out of here, right?

The only problem is...you don't have a job yet, and you are worried about moving somewhere without securing one.

This is a common hurdle for many college graduates. You're ready to get on with your life, but you're not sure which resources to use that will help you reach that next goal.

Here are some steps you might consider taking in order to ensure that all of your bases are covered before diving into your next adventure--

1. Network with friends and family: Your aunt May might know someone who lives in Boulder that you could connect to find out about employers in the area. Email or call everyone in your circle to gather names and then begin connecting!

2. Connect with alumni: There might be some alumni living in Boston who could hook you up with an interview in their accounting firms, so check with your alumni office or go on to your alumni directory to find past students.

3. Use Jigsaw.com to locate employers in your area: This free site allows you to search for industry-specific companies in any city/town across the country. Many companies solely post positions internally, so visit each web site to browse through any openings!

4. Use indeed.com to conduct a general job search in the area: You can type in the geographic region and view anything that's been posted in newspapers, online, or via industry job boards. You may find a position that you hadn't thought about before!

This should give you a head start...good luck!
