Re-locating?

Now, more than ever before, recent graduates are relocating to find jobs. The process can be exciting, nerve-wracking, and scary all at once. There's a web site out there that can help you explore the local community events, issues and jobs that often goes unnoticed.

NewsDirectory.com is a "free directory of newspapers, magazines, television stations, colleges, visitor bureaus, governmental agencies and more can help you get to where you want to go, or find sites you didn't know about." The site is easily navigable, allowing you to drill down when searching by geographic location.

Not only does this site bring up daily newspapers in the area, but it pulls up non-daily and college newspapers. Personally, I think non-daily and college papers reveal the most about a city or town's culture and think they are a great way to find out if you see yourself 'fitting in' with that community.

Furthermore, many small businesses rely on local papers for recruitment and hiring purposes. Often times, the smaller paper classified sections aren't picked up by the web-based search engines, so it's important to dig deep and do the research yourself.

Enjoy the search!
